Get Ready to Dig In: Floral City Strawberry Festival Brings Back the Pie Eating Contests!

Hold onto your bibs and loosen those belts because the Floral City Strawberry Festival is thrilled to announce the return of everyone's favorite messy, marvelous event: the annual Pie Eating Contests! Prepare for a whirlwind of whipped cream and strawberry goodness at this year’s event on March 2nd and 3rd as we dive into two days of sweet, sticky, and seriously fun competition.

Pie lovers of all ages are invited to join in the gastronomic extravaganza, where the challenge is simple: devour a delicious strawberry and whipped cream pie without using your hands. It's a test of skill, speed, and sheer determination, and we guarantee plenty of laughs along the way! The contests will kick off at 1 p.m. sharp at Strawberry Row near the shortcake tent, so mark your calendars and come hungry. With only six slots available in each age category, advanced registration is required day of beginning at 10 a.m. at the Chamber Information Tent, so don't snooze on securing your spot!

"The pie eating contests are always a crowd favorite bringing a big dollop of excitement to our event," said Jade White, Public Relations Manager. "It's a chance for folks to let loose, embrace their inner pie enthusiast, and make memories that'll last a lifetime."

There's a category for everyone:
  1. Ages 12 and under
  2. Ages 13 and up

And remember, it's not just about the glory—the winners in each age group will snag the coveted Floral City Strawberry Festival Pie Eating Champion plaque!

Festival Highlights:

In addition to the pie eating contests, the Floral City Strawberry Festival boasts a packed schedule of activities and attractions, including the Strawberry Princess Pageants, interactive fun with the Soccer Collies and the Wildlife Walkabout and Activity Center, arts & craft vendors, a wide variety of food options, a beer & wine garden, and exceptional musical entertainment. Not to mention, the festival will feature fresh local strawberries from Ferris Groves and the most delicious strawberry shortcake on the Nature Coast.

 

Admission to the festival is just $5 for adults, while children 12 and under enjoy free entry. Free parking and shuttle services are available, ensuring a hassle-free visit to the festival grounds. With something for everyone, the Floral City Strawberry Festival invites you to join in the fun and make lasting memories.
